What’s In a Nut Ball?

Well, as you already know, I find it very difficult to get all the “good food” into my diet and at heart I’m not a cook so I need quick and easy ways to eat right.

Recently a client of mine told me she was making nut balls. She uses a food processor – which I don’t have. But, my little “Magic Bullet” pulled it off just fine. Basically it is this simple:

  1. Put any kind of nuts, seeds and dried fruit you have into your blender and crush them up.
  2. Toss the mixture into a bowel and add coconut oil and raw honey. Blend it all together with your blender.
  3. Roll into bite size balls!!

My next adventure is going to be with a few spices… Christmas Balls with cinnamon and nutmeg!!  Like my smoothie, it will never be the same because the ingredients always will change.  Some of the items I had and used were:

  • Almonds
  • Cashews
  • Flax Seeds
  • Salba Seeds
  • Pumpkin Seeds
  • Pine Nuts
  • Goji Berries
  • Cacao Nibs
  • Organic Chocolate Chips
  • Raisins

Then for the moisture I used coconut oil and raw honey. Roll into balls and put in the fridge, and don’t tell your kids because they will eat them all!!  Easy Peasy!!!!!  And very yummy. I think this will replace my protein bars I usually have during the mid-afternoon.

So, again my friends… you are what you eat. Feed your body like it is recovering from surgery; it needs all the goodness you can give it every day.
